68.00

Does this smell like a gym?  The short answer is yes, but, it’s the most beautiful interpretation imaginable.

Top: | Eucalyptus | Steam |

Mid: | Fresh Sweat | Cotton Towels | Chlorine |

Base: | Black Rubber | Iron |

Gymnasia comes compounded in 12 ounces of premium wax (soy + paraffin blend). The burn time is approximately 80 hours.

The cylindrical vessel measures 4 inches high by 3.25 inches in diameter.    It’s made of matte white stoneware ceramic with a subtle but prominent SCENTHOUSE monogram.   A thin golden line is painted at the top and bottom, encircling the vessel.   The vessel will compliment almost any décor.

If you notice any black smoke, kindly trim your wick.  Any candle will smoke if the wick is too long.

To answer your question – does this smell like a gym?  The short answer is yes, but, it’s the most beautiful interpretation imaginable.

Rational amusement, or finding joy in the solidarity of organized leisure (a.k.a. going to the gym) once wasn’t a hassle, or a necessity for living in Los Angeles.   It was a lifestyle, something you would organize your days (and social circle) around.   One of the last vestiges of this era is the Los Angeles Athletic Club in Downtown, which if you haven’t visited,  please do.  It’s clear from the design of the building, the rooms, and the architecture that athletic activity was meant to be a social experience.  Inside, there’s a subtle presence of the scent of improvement, of rubber shoes, chlorine in the air, iron (present in both weights and rusting shower pipes), eucalyptus steam,  boxing gloves, wood basketball courts… we have extracted these facets of gymnasia, distilled them down, and balanced them in absolute perfect harmony.  The notes coalesce and dose us with the positivity of progress and self-improvement.
